Rani Lakshmi Bai Central Agricultural University, Jhansi

Established under the Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE) by an Act of Parliament (Act No. 10 of 2014), Rani Lakshmi Bai Central Agricultural University is an Institution of National Importance, officially notified on March 5, 2014.

Named in honor of the iconic freedom fighter and warrior queen of Jhansi, Rani Lakshmi Bai, the university is dedicated to advancing agricultural education, research, and extension services. Located in the heart of the Bundelkhand region, RLBCAU serves 13 districts across Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.

RLBCAU offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in fields such as agronomy, horticulture, veterinary science, and agricultural engineering. With a focus on innovation and sustainability, the university aims to strengthen food security and rural development in India.

The university began its operations on May 9, 2014, with the appointment of Dr. Arvind Kumar as its first Vice-Chancellor. RLBCAU continues to lead as a center of excellence in agricultural sciences, upholding the spirit of resilience and service embodied by its namesake.
